New Certification / Full Recertification (MBE & DBE)

Securing MBE and DBE certifications can be game-changers for businesses, offering access to a wealth of opportunities. These certifications demonstrate a commitment to diversity and inclusion, opening doors to government contracts, private partnerships, and specialized support programs.

MBE certification empowers minority-owned businesses by enhancing visibility and credibility, while DBE certification provides opportunities for those facing social or economic disadvantages. Both certifications offer access to training, networking, and mentorship, nurturing long-term growth and success.

In essence, MBE and DBE certifications pave the way for businesses to thrive, fostering resilience and prosperity in a competitive market.

Choose this option if:

  • You have never been awarded this certification before

  • The certification you want for your business has a special, longer 3-year or 5-year interim review this specific year. (This application is not for a typical annual renewal.)

Annual DBE or MBE Certification Renewal

Choose this option if you already have obtained this certification and need assistance with a typical annual no-change-affidavit renewal application in which there have been no changes to the management, location, phone number, NAICS codes, structure, Bylaws/Articles of incorporation, etc. of the business.

If there have been any changes, please first inform the associated government agency of any such changes before submitting this form.

To Complete this application, you will need the following documents:

  • A recent (within the last week) Personal Net Worth Statement for any owners

8(a) Certification

8(a) Certification

The 8(a) Business Development Program, administered by the Small Business Administration (SBA), is a powerful tool designed to support the growth and development of small businesses owned by individuals who are socially and economically disadvantaged. This certification provides access to a wide range of resources, including government contracts, specialized training, and networking opportunities, aimed at helping eligible firms thrive in the competitive federal marketplace.

The government reserves contracts exclusively for businesses with 8(a) certification. While this designation holds promising potential to significantly enhance profitability for eligible businesses, it's essential to proceed thoughtfully. We highly recommend initiating a conversation with an SBA specialist to ascertain whether this certification aligns with the goals and objectives of your company. Their expertise can provide valuable insights to help you determine the best path forward for your business.

Because this certification is one of the most difficult and stringent in the country, a consultation is required before application.

Note: This is one of the most highly-regulated and difficult certifications to obtain. This is why this is the only application that has a non-refundable 50% downpayment fee.

SAM.gov Certification

SAM.gov certification offers businesses the opportunity to register within the System for Award Management (SAM), a centralized platform used by the U.S. government for contracting purposes. Becoming certified on SAM.gov opens doors to various benefits, including eligibility to bid on federal contracts, access to federal assistance programs, and increased visibility to government agencies seeking vendors.

Furthermore, SAM.gov certification demonstrates credibility and professionalism to potential clients beyond the federal government, as it signifies compliance with government standards and regulations. However, it's important to note that SAM.gov certification requires annual renewal to maintain eligibility for government contracts and benefits.

SAM.gov registrations are not only crucial for engaging with federal government contracts but also hold significance beyond this realm. Various vendor applications may inquire about SAM.gov registrations, underscoring its broader relevance across different sectors.

Moreover, it's worth noting that SAM.gov registration is a prerequisite for pursuing 8(a) certification, emphasizing its pivotal role in accessing additional opportunities and resources for eligible businesses.

In today's business landscape, many companies prioritize supplier diversity and inclusion initiatives, seeking to partner with businesses that reflect a range of backgrounds and perspectives. As part of these efforts, some companies require vendors to register in their supplier diversity databases before engaging in business partnerships. These databases serve as a resource for companies looking to connect with diverse suppliers, including those owned by minorities, women, veterans, and other underrepresented groups.

Once your initial certification application with us is completed, it opens the door to numerous opportunities beyond initial certification. We can assist with a variety of applications for certifications and registrations, streamlining the process and expanding your potential for business growth and success. Whether it's pursuing additional government certifications, registering in supplier diversity databases, filling out each business' government-required Corporate Transparency Act, the Capital Development Board's application, CMS BEP, or completing ETIP paperwork, we're here to support your journey every step of the way.

Looking forward to meeting with you

*Notes:

Note: 50% of the total fee is due upon submission of the order form. This fee is refundable only if the reason the company was not able to be certified is the direct fault of Sandbox 9. It will not be refunded if:
  • The government or Sandbox 9 requests something, giving at least 72 hours of time until it is due, but the client does not provide it in time and the application times out.

  • The business is rejected due to false information provided by the client

The government deems the business unfit for certification after all documentation has been provided

  • Force majeure

Some certifications require non refundable application fees paid directly to the MBE, DBE, or application agency that are separate from Sandbox 9’s fee and go directly to the agency to complete the certification. These are also due upon application and will not be reimbursed for any reason.
The remaining 50% of Sandbox 9’s fee is due upon successful receipt of the certification/registration into the vendor system, etc.
